Bhopal: Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) started a unique and inspiring anti-plastic drive in the month of September. In order to make the city plastic-free, BMC set up cloth- bag sewing kiosks at several places.
At these kiosks, with the help of sewing machines, old clothes are transformed into carrying bags. People here can buy cloth bags at just Rs 5, which gets refunded if they bring their own old clothes.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Rabia, who works at one of the kiosks said, "We are receiving good response but people are still hesitant in buying these bags."
