Mumbai: SS Rajamouli's next movie RRR, that marks Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn's debut flick in the Telugu language, is likely to get pushed, reports suggest.

Cinema, OTT and television production the world over have been adversely hit due to coronavirus outbreak and subsequent lockdown. The thriving south Indian film industry is no exception as it is witnessing the postponing of film releases and shooting, with artistes, filmmakers and technicians ensuring caution over commerce.

A major shoot that has been cancelled for now is the Baahubali franchise director SS Rajamouli's next biggie, RRR. The ambitious film stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR with Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn. Irish actors Ray Stevenson and Alison Doody also feature in prominent roles in the film. The film might not release in January 2021, as was being said.

It is said that the makers are eyeing on big numbers in the North India market too, as the director had already made his mark with the Baahubali franchise. In order to reach out to an all-India market, Rajamouli has roped in Alia and Ajay.

On March 27, the makers released a special teaser to mark the birthday of Ram Charan's birthday. Powerful visuals featuring Ram Charan laced with Jr NTR's voice accelerated hype among the fans who flooded the social media with best wishes for the Magdheera star.

However, to enjoy the cinematic experience that Rajamouli has to offer, the audience will apparently have to wait a little longer than it was expected. If the country cannot get back to a real degree of normalcy in the near future combating COVID-19, not only RRR the 2020 release calendar will reportedly go under major reshuffling.

The film narrates a fictitious tale based on the life of Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem. Produced on an estimated budget of Rs 450 crore.
