Vapi: As there is a ban on gutka in Maharashtra, a huge scam is going on to send illegal gutka from Gujarat to Maharashtra. In which Vapi GIDC police have seized a quantity of illegal gutkha worth Rs 2,37,912 from a tempo with 3 ISMOs from Gunjan area.
The amount seized based on the news
Staff of Vapi GIDC police station kept a watch near Rambo Hospital in Gunjan area of Vapi based on the information. When the tempo with the news came, they stopped and checked and found a quantity of gutkha and pan masala. Which is being valued at 2,37,912. The 3 persons sitting in the tempo were questioned about the matter.
Police launched further action
Tempo Sawar Ismo could not present as he did not have any kind of bill. Udyog Nagar police had taken legal action against Ramashankar Kishore Yadav, Rajesh Omprakash Gupta and Dharmesh Manguram Gupta for giving details of transporting the quantity of gutkha and pan masala to Mumbai. With this, who sent the quantity of Gutkha from Vapi and who ordered it in Mumbai? Further investigations are underway.
