Landslide on Gangotri Highway in Uttarakhand

The Gangotri National Highway was blocked after a massive landslide at Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand on Monday. Huge boulders and a large amount of debris fell on the highway blocking it. Due to the closure of Gangotri Highway, the international border including Gangotri Dham, 11 villages of Harshil and Bhatwadi valley have been cut off from the district headquarters. The debris removal work is being carried out by the BRO, and the route is likely to open by 9 pm.
