Vast exhibition showcases 1,400 artworks

The Royal Academy of Arts' Summer Exhibition is underway in London. It's an eclectic mix of artwork by anyone from established artists to members of the public. 'I woke up from a dream and that gave me wings' – an appropriate title for an artwork that looks like it came from deep in the subconscious. The figure is by Raul de Nieves and is on show at this year's Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts. Gallery after gallery is crammed with artworks, most of which are also for sale. One of the star attractions is by Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga. It's on loan from another gallery and the vivid feminine figures have become the face of the exhibition. But it's just one of a vast array for visitors to feast their eyes on.
