One of interesting thing about a dish is the story of its origin. Today, in our Christmas special series we bring you the recipe of one such popular dish.The recipe of crispy and crunchy rose cookies! Very simple to make, these cookies are made of eggs, flour and sugar and are quite popular in South Indian states especially in Kerala which is believed to be its place of origin. When delved deep history says, it was Europeans who taught baking to Indians and probably rose cookie traveled with them. It came to India stayed here and got Indian with popular names like Gulabi Puvvulu in Telugu. Acchu Murukku in Tamil and Achapam in Malayalam. In today's time these cookies have become so popular that not alone Christmas these are available through out the year. These sweet fried cookies are shaped like a rose with holes suggesting the petals of the flower.
