Betul: Eight people have been arrested in Madhya Pradesh after a jeweler was robbed a week ago in Betul.
Addressing media, SP Simala Prasad said that Prince Soni (25), a resident of Chhindwara was robbed of Rs 2.5 lakh in cash and five pieces of diamonds worth Rs 2 lakh on May 31.

With the help of CCTV footage, police took Karan, a resident of Jharkhande Amdoh into custody where he confessed to the crime along with others.
Later, police arrested Saikheda, Hamlapur resident Pintu Nagle, Shubham Gaikwad, Pankaj Kavde, Kalapatha resident Hrithik Chandrahas, Durgaward resident Rohit Markam and two others.
Five pieces of high-quality diamonds and 250 pieces of low-quality diamonds, 2 country-made pistols, 2 live cartridges, 15 thousand rupees cash and ornaments worth Rs 55 lakh have been seized from them, police said.
The smuggled diamonds were concealed in capsules, police said.
