Chhatarpur: A sensational case of human trafficking has come up in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, the connections of which are speculated to run from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh to Uttar Pradesh.
Seven months ago, an 18-year-old girl was kidnapped from Jaspur, Chhattisgarh by the accused Ajay Rai and his wife. They brought the girl, Seema (name changed*) to Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh where she was sold and raped about 6 times for Rs 20 thousand, Rs 50 thousand and lastly Rs 70 thousand.
When the parents came to know of the kidnapping, they got in touch with the kidnappers who demanded a ransom in return of the girl.
The parents then informed the Chhattisgarh Police who launched a search operation along with Madhya Pradesh police.
However by then, after so much harassment, the girl committed suicide on December 10, 2020.

Police have revealed that 8 accused have been arrested in the case and the incident is related to inter-state gang human trafficking.
