MP girl scales Kedarkantha mountain, hoists tricolour to mark R-day

Indian climber Gauri Arajria from Madhya Pradesh raised the Indian flag on Kedarkantha mountain in Uttarakhand state to mark Republic Day, which was celebrated on January 26.

Panna: Madhya Pradesh's Gauri Arajria on Tuesday hoisted the tricolour in Uttarakhand's Kedarkantha mountain at an altitude of 12500 feet in minus 20 degrees and also sang the national anthem to mark the Republic day.

Along with Gauri, the members of the International Adventure Foundation Group were also present.

Groups from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Chandigarh also joined the climb to Kedarkantha, but Gauri Arjaria along with her International Adventure Foundation team reached first at five in the morning.

Mountaineer Gauri's dream is to one day reach the top of the world, Mount Everest and though the financial condition of her family is not very well, they support Gauri in her endeavour.

Gauri Arjaria first prepared for this by staying in her village in Simaria and doing a basic mountain climbing course in 2019. She then climbed the Rain of Peak of the height of seventeen thousand feet.

Powai MLA Prahlad Lodhi congratulated Gauri on the success and wished her bright future.
