40 students test Covid-19 positve in Himachal Boarding School

Dr. Vijay Memorial Senior Secondary Boarding School in Dharampur have been converted into a containment zone. All the students have been isolated, and the health department and district administration are monitoring the situation.

Mandi (Himachal Pradesh): At least 40 students and three staff of a boarding school have been found Covid-19 positive in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district.

According to the sources, the health condition of the students and staff of Dr Vijay Memorial Senior Secondary Boarding School in Dharampur started deteriorating from Saturday, after which they were rushed to Civil Hospital Dharampur. After the diagnosis, 25 of them tested positive for the deadly virus.

Later, the samples of the other students were also sent for diagnosing, in which 18 more children were found positive of the virus. There are currently 130 students in the boarding school from Classes 9-12.

Sarkaghat Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) Rahul Jain, who is also the SDM of Dharampur said, "The entire building of boarding school has been converted into a containment zone. All the students have been isolated, and the health department and district administration are monitoring the situation."
