Last rites of ex-Bihar MP Mohammad Shahabuddin held in Delhi

Former RJD leader and Bihar MP Mohammad Shahabuddin had passed away on Saturday. Today, his body was buried as per Islamic customs and rituals in the ITO cemetery. Last Saturday, the strongman and politician were admitted to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital for Covid treatment. The former RJD leader contracted the virus in Tihar Jail.

New Delhi: Former RJD leader and Bihar MP Mohammad Shahabuddin had passed away on Saturday, Today, his body was buried as per Islamic customs and rituals in the ITO cemetery. Last Saturday, the strongman and politician were admitted to Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital for Covid treatment. The former RJD leader contracted the virus in Tihar Jail.

Hundreds of people thronged the ITO cemetery on this occasion, including many dignitaries, including AAP MLA from Okhla, Amanatullah Khan. The family of the deceased leader wanted to cremate his body in Bihar. However, the administration refused permission due to security arrangements and Covid protocol. A large number of police forces were also deployed outside the ITO cemetery to maintain law and order.
