New Delhi: The recent tension in the Indo-China relations has not only affected the business between the two neighbouring countries but also hurt many government schemes - one of them is CCTV camera installation by Delhi government in the national capital.
Arvind Kejriwal government, which had promised to install 1.5 lakh CCTV cameras across the city in order to curb crime against women, was able to fulfil its promise of the last term in the final year of it.
Kejriwal, with the mandate to form the government once again for five years, announced to install as many CCTV cameras during his current term also but with border tension with China and the central government announcing a ban on various things from the country, has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to suggest which company to engage with for the work.

Earlier, a Chinese company had installed the CCTV cameras in the national capital but with the relation getting sour over the border issue, it's been decided to keep Chinese companies away.
The decision has a direct effect of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to become 'atmanirbhar' (self-reliant).
