Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a massive public meeting at Limbayat Assembly on 29 September 2022. The location for this rally has been thoughtfully chosen. Out of the 12 seats in Surat, the BJP has decided to hold it here considering the Muslim and Marathi community voters here who always play a decisive role in the vote dynamics here.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat from September 29 and lay the foundation stone of infrastructure projects worth Rs 29,000 crore in the state, according to a government statement on Tuesday. The Assembly election in Gujarat is slated to be held later this year.

The prime minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of various development projects worth around Rs 29,000 crore in Surat, Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad, and Ambaji. The total cost of projects to be inaugurated in Surat is more than Rs 3400 crore. At Bhavnagar, Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple developmental initiatives worth over Rs 5,200 crore. Among the infrastructure projects to be inaugurated by Modi is the Phase-I of the Ahmedabad Metro project. He will also flag off the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express and lay the foundation stone of the world's first CNG Terminal at Bhavnagar and declare the 36th National Games open.

He will also lay the foundation stone of a broad gauge railway line which will make it easier for pilgrims to travel to Ambaji. Modi will visit the Ambaji temple and pay obeisance there. He will also attend Maha Aarti at Gabbar Tirtha. To mark the beginning of the festive season, the prime minister will also participate in the Navratri festival celebrations in Ahmedabad.

Prime Minister Modi will address a massive public meeting at Limbayat Assembly on 29 September 2022. The location for this rally has been thoughtfully chosen. Out of the 12 seats in Surat, the BJP has decided to hold it here considering the Muslim and Marathi community voters here who always play a decisive role in the vote dynamics here. With more than 1,00,000 voters from the Muslim and Marathi communities, the assembly is all set to hold a road show welcoming an estimated 25,000 people.

As far as the Patidar factor is concerned, assemblies like Varachha, Katargam, Karanj and Kamrej are very important in Surat. But choosing to conduct the roadshow in Limbayat instead is what the political analysts are calling a masterstroke by PM Modi. Naresh Varia, a political analyst, said that as far as the Limbayat assembly seat is concerned, Marathi people are more dominant in this seat. "Apart from this, Muslims, Gujaratis, North Indians, etc. are also in majority in this area. Muslim voters play a crucial role in this area after the division of votes of the Marathi community. Out of the 12 constituencies in Surat, 2 seats are where the number of Muslim voters is high -- out of which one is Limbayat and other is Surat East seat," he said.

"PM Modi, who visited South India today, talked about bringing the minority community into the mainstream. Pertinently, people from every state live in the Surat Limbayat seat. Holding a public rally here will allow him to easily influence the people of all the states," he further explained.

Another political analyst, Manoj Kumar said, "The votes of the Marathi community are of special importance here. In the 2017 elections in this area, the three candidates of BJP, Congress and Shiv Sena belonged to the Marathi community, due to which the Marathi votes were divided here. This time, Aam Aadmi Party is an addition." He further added that the Aam Aadmi Party won 27 seats in Surat Municipal Corporation elections and now the AAP workers are more aggressive than the Congress against local MLA Sangeeta Patil and are raising people's issues. In this seat, all parties except NCP have fielded Marathi candidates, he added.

Sangeeta Patil has been the MLA here for the last 2 terms. As for the 2012 assembly elections, she got 79,744 votes, while Suresh Sonavane of Congress got 49,423 votes. In the year 2017, Sangeeta Patil got 93,585 votes against 61,634 votes for Dr Ravindra Patil of Congress. In the year 2017, the number of voters in the Limbayat Assembly was 2,59,916.

The Prime Minister will land here in a helicopter at the helipad built near Maharshi Astik School. The preparations including cleaning and repairing of the infrastructure are currently in full swing in the city. Local MLA Sangeeta Patil said that leaders from several societies and women's organizations are keen on joining the rally. "More than 2 lakh people will come here to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thousands of women will welcome him wearing themed sarees. The preparations for his arrival are in full swing," she said.
