PM lauds Assam's efforts for well-being of single-horned Rhinos

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the efforts of Assam state for the well-being of one-horned Rhinos. He also said that the one-Horned Rhino is India’s pride and all steps will be taken for its well-being.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the efforts of Assam state for the well-being of one-horned Rhinos. He also said that the one-Horned Rhino is India’s pride and all steps will be taken for its well-being.

Prime Minister took to Twitter to reply a tweet by the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. His tweet reads, "Commendable effort by Team Assam. The One-Horned Rhino is India’s pride and all steps will be taken for its well-being."

Earlier on the occasion of World Rhino Day, the Assam govt burned 2,479 Rhino horns to bust the myth about its medicinal value and to send a strong message against poaching.
