Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has been called by the BJP high command to Delhi sparking off speculations in political circles in the light of the change of chief ministers in Karnataka, Uttarakhand and Gujarat where the party is in power.

Along with Thakur, other office-bearers of the state party unit have also been called to the national capital. What has set off the speculations is the fact that Thakur had returned from Delhi just last Sunday.

According to information received, the BJP high command will hold a meeting Tuesday evening where party in-charge of Himachal Pradesh Avinash Rai Khanna, co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon, state unit president Suresh Kashyap and organisation general secretary Pawan Rana will be present. In view of the political developments in Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Karnataka where the BJP is in power, the Congress has seen an opportunity to target the saffron party and said that Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur is being removed.

Addressing a Jan Aakrosh rally at Dhalpur Maidan in Kullu Monday, Congress MLA from Shimla Rural Vikramaditya Singh said that like in the states of Karnataka, Gujarat and Uttarakhand, the BJP can change the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh overnight.

Vikramaditya Singh said that the way the BJP took out the Jan Ashirwad Yatra led by Union Minister Anurag Thakur in the state, it is a full indication that the state chief minister is going to be changed. He said that the Jan Ashirwad Yatra was a plan to make Chief Minister Thakur look weak and put the blame on him for the government's failures in the state.

It may be mentioned that Thakur had visited Delhi September 8 during the course of which he met BJP president JP Nadda and a number of Union ministers. From Delhi, Thakur went along with his family to Ujjain to offer prayers at the Mahakal temple and returned to Shimla Sunday.
