Noted poet Iftikhar Siddiqi passes away

Mumbai: Iftikhar Imam Siddiqi, poet, writer and grandson of the famous Urdu poet Seemab Akbarabadi, passed away in Mumbai on Sunday.

Siddiqi was the editor of the monthly magazine 'Shair', one of the oldest Urdu-language literary magazines in India. He was unwell for the last several years. Despite his ill health, the magazine was published every month.

Siddiqi was regarded as one of the most famous poets of the country. His eloquent voice and style were highly adored and appreciated in the world of poetry.
