Bihar: 4 dead, 9 injured in firing during illegal sand mining in Maner

Four people were killed and nine injured in a multiple-round firing in connection with illegal sand mining in Maner, Bihta, Police in Patna said on Thursday.

Patna: Four people were killed and nine injured in a multiple-round firing between two groups in connection with illegal sand mining in the Maner area of Bihta, Police in Patna said on Thursday. The two factions were engaged in a squabble that turned ugly resulting in the deaths of four persons. The police have arrived at the scene, and an investigation is in progress.

The deceased have been identified as Shatrughan, Harendra, and Laldev of Maner police station area of ​​Patna district, while the fourth deceased has been identified as Vimlesh Kumar Singh alias Gorelal, resident of Chandi police station area of ​​Bhojpur district.

"Information has been received. So far four people have been reported dead. A police team has reached the spot, however, till now the body is being searched in the Son river. At present, no firing incident is taking place." - Shivendra Kumar Singh, in charge of Bihta police station said.

An event occurred only a few days after two bike-riding males in Begusarai opened fire on National Highways 28 and 31 on September 13. The incident resulted in the death of one person and severe injuries to at least nine others.
