In the face of the communally charged atmosphere, internet service in three towns in the region - Nohar, Bhadra, and Rawatsar - was temporarily suspended by the administration.

Nohar: The situation has grown increasingly tense in Nohar, situated in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh district, since Wednesday night when VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) Block President Satveer Saharan was attacked by a group of people. The town saw demonstrations being held by VHP and Bajrang Dal workers on Thursday, who blocked the road in front of Nohar Police Station, demanding immediate arrest of those involved in the attack on Saharan.

In the face of the communally charged atmosphere, internet service in three towns in the region - Nohar, Bhadra, and Rawatsar - was temporarily suspended by the administration. The fallout started after Saharan, along with others, objected to a group of people sitting on vacant land outside a temple in the area and disturbing local residents on Wednesday night.

It is alleged that women visiting the temple had objections to the miscreants. Saharan sustained head injuries after he and his companions approached the group, leading to a scuffle between the two parties. The VHP leader was initially taken to Hanumangarh for further treatment, from where he was later referred to Bikaner. After the incident, Hanumangarh SP Ajay Singh reached the spot.

"Six accused who attacked Saharan have been arrested. The situation is under control and additional police personnel has been deployed to maintain law and order," the police official said, adding that a total of 32 people had additionally been arrested for trying to create trouble in the area. Local MLA Amit Chauhan, who was in Jaipur at the time of the incident, is learned to have spoken to higher officials. He, too, asked the public to maintain peace.
