Police beat students protesting against NEP in Bengaluru, several injured

Bengaluru: Several students were injured in a police lathicharge during the protest rally organised by the Campus Front of India against the new National Education Policy (NEP) here. Some of the injured students are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The injured students told ETV Bharat that they were beaten by the police "as part of a planned conspiracy". They alleged that some policemen deliberately hit the students on their head with sticks.

Syed Sarfraz, a Campus Front office-bearer, said a complaint will be given to the police commissioner of Bengaluru regarding the police "barbarism" on students. "However, if the police don't accept our complaint, we will move the court," he added.

Sarfraz blamed that the BJP government saying it was muzzling the voice of the students. He said, despite the police crackdown, the students will continue their protests against the NEP.
