Chhattisgarh Health Minister and senior Congress leader TS Singh Deo is said to be a disgruntled man these days after being denied the chief ministership creating tension within the party. But MLA Brihaspati Singh dismissed all these as a conspiracy hatched by the BJP and claimed that all is well within the Congress government in the state.

Raipur: Amid news of dissension within the Chhattisgarh government and a disgruntled TS Singh Deo, Congress MLA Brihaspati Singh has claimed that all these speculations are part of a conspiracy hatched by the BJP.

“The BJP has managed to mislead two kings associated with the Congress but will not be able to break the third king of the Congress,” Brihaspati Singh told ETV Bharat. He named Jyotiraditya Scindia and Captain Amarinder Singh as examples of the two kings and Chhattisgarh Health Minister and senior Congress leader TS Singh Deo, who is said to be angry these days, as the third king.

When the Congress won the elections in the state, the names of TS Singh Deo and Bhupesh Baghel were in the forefront in the race for the chief minister's post. The top leadership at that time decided on a two-and-a half-year tenure for each leader to avoid any controversy and both agreed. As soon as the two-and-a-half-year tenure of the Baghel government was over, TS Singh Deo reminded the party's top leadership of the promise but neither did he get a clear answer from the high command nor did the MLAs in the state came out in his support.

According to the Congress MLA, all these stories have been fabricated and all the MLAs are united. He said that even if two or four MLAs are lured by someone, the government is not going to suffer any loss because 70 out of 90 MLAs belong to the Congress and the position of the government is completely strong in the state.

Along with Brihaspati Singh, 15 other MLAs had reached Delhi Wednesday night, after which there have been speculations galore. Brihaspati Singh is openly speaking in support of Bhupesh Baghel but he said that the purpose of his visit to Delhi is related to Rahul Gandhi's visit to Chhattisgarh. The MLAs want Rahul Gandhi to extend his program and include some other districts in the itinerary. As far as the meeting for this is concerned, Brihaspati Singh could not meet the party's Chhattisgarh in-charge PL Punia as the latter is in Lucknow.

Even though pro-Bhupesh MLA Brihaspati Singh is saying that everything is fine in the Congress, so far TS Singh Deo himself has not made it clear that there is no atmosphere of tension regarding the post of chief minister. However, he has said that he will never leave the Congress party.

On Kapil Sibal's statement and dissatisfaction among many senior leaders of the party, Brihaspati Singh said that this leader has been a part of the Congress since the time he worked with Indira Gandhi and later Rajiv Gandhi. He expressed the hope that all will work together to defeat the BJP.
