2 Rajasthan officials caught red-handed while accepting bribe

Rajasthan ACB sleuths nabbed two officials of Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.

Jaipur: The Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested two officials of Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.

Ashok Sangwan, scheme coordinator, and Rahul Kumar Garg, manager, were caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from the complainant to clear pending bills, having a total amount of Rs 1.5 crore, of his firm for getting works done under skill development scheme, not forfeiting security and for removing the firm from the blacklist, DG ACB BL Soni said.

The ACB also seized mobile phones of RSLDC Chairman Niraj K Pawan and RSLDC MD Pradeep Gawande, both IAS officers, for their suspected involvement in the case, they said, adding their role is being examined in detail.

After verification of the complaint, the ACB laid a trap and arrested both the accused.

The ACB team also seized nine chambers in the RSLDC including that of Niraj K Pawan and took the mobile phones of Neeraj K Pawan and Pradeep Gawande for examination.

In May 2016, Neeraj K Pawan, a 2003-batch IAS officer, was arrested by the ACB for his alleged involvement in a corruption racket in the health department. PTI
