Batting first, South Africa wouldn't have dreamed of a better start as their openers Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma stitched a 100-run stand. De Kock capitalised on the solid start he got and piled up runs to eventually reach his 19th ODI hundred in 90 balls. He smashed eight boundaries and five maximums in his innings and caused most of the damage to the Australian pacers. His innings set a platform for the upcoming batters and Australia crossed the 300-run mark in the end. The South African side will hope that the wicketkeeper-batter continues his form in the subsequent games as well.
