Ajit Pawar Plane Crash | Pawar Family Members Reach Baramati
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar died in a plane crash in Baramati on Wednesday.

Mumbai: Following the news of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's demise, the members of the Pawar family, including Ajit Pawar's wife Sunetra Pawar and Baramati MP Supriya Sule, reached Baramati, which is a stronghold of the Pawar family.
Sunetra Pawar, who is a Rajya Sabha member, first arrived at the residence of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar in New Delhi. Supriya Sule was also at the residence of Sharad Pawar in New Delhi, and the duo, along with some other family members, left for Baramati in Pune district.
Sharad Pawar also reached Baramati and took information about the accident. The former Maharashtra Chief Minister also visited the government hospital in Baramati.
Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar arrived at the hospital in Baramati, where the body of Ajit Pawar has been kept. Ajit Pawar, fondly known as 'Dada' in Maharashtra politics, died in a plane crash in Baramati, from where he was an eight-time Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Yugendra Pawar, who unsuccessfully contested the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly election, was present in Baramati and was seen weeping as the news of Ajit Pawar's demise broke out.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, are also rushing to Baramati. Fadnavis has announced a three-day state mourning in Maharashtra.
Ajit Pawar was also the Finance Minister of Maharashtra. The accident occurred when Pawar was on his way to Baramati. He was scheduled to address several election rallies in the Pune district ahead of the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections. A huge crowd of people has gathered outside the hospital in Baramati, where the mortal remains of Ajit Pawar have been kept.
NCP MLA and former Maharashtra Minister Dhananjay Munde also left for Baramati as soon as he heard of Ajit Dada Pawar's demise. While talking to a friend on the way, he broke down in tears. Dhananjay Munde and Ajit Dada had a special connection.
Following the tragic demise of Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister (Finance and Planning, State Excise) Ajit Pawar, the state government has issued orders for his funeral to be conducted with state honours.
According to the official letter issued by the General Administration Department, the District Collector and Superintendent of Police of Pune have been instructed to make all the necessary administrative and security arrangements for the funeral. They have also been asked to complete the further proceedings immediately and submit a report of the action taken to the government.
This order has been issued and signed by the Additional Chief Secretary (General Administration Department), and the last rites of the late Ajit Pawar will be performed with state honours on behalf of the government.
