In its 126-day journey that began on September 2 last year, India's first solar observatory mission, Aditya L1 travelled for 1.5 million km from the Earth, after being launched by the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C57) from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota.

The second Earth-bound manoeuvre is performed successfully from ISTRAC, Bengaluru. ISTRAC/ISRO's ground stations at Mauritius, Bengaluru and Port Blair tracked the satellite during this operation. The new orbit attained is 282 km x 40225 km.

Giving an update on its Aditya-L1 mission to study the Sun, the ISRO said on Wednesday the launch rehearsal and the rocket's internal checks have been completed. The mission is scheduled to be launched on September 2 at 11.50 am from the Sriharikota spaceport.
