Real Estate Businessman Dies By Suicide After Going Live On Facebook

Lucknow: A 36-year-old real estate businessman died by suicide after suffering a loss of Rs 15 crore at Gudamba locality of Lucknow.

The deceased, took the extreme step near Tedhi Pulia intersection by going live on Facebook. He was a resident of Vikas Nagar and before dying by suicide went live on Facebook and shared his agony. The deceased alleged heavy losses in business and harassment by his partner.

In the video, he appealed Bollywood actor Salman Khan and RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani to help his family. The deceased's brother said after he saw the live Facebook feed, he called up a guard near his residence but it was too late by then.

Gudamba police station inspector Prabhatesh Srivastava rushed to the spot on getting the news after which the deceased's body was sent to a government hospital for postmortem. A forensic also reached the spot for probe. "A real estate businessman from Gudamba died by suicide by going live on Facebook after being upset over a loss of Rs 15 crore," said Srivastava. A case has been registered and further probe is on.

In a similar incident, three members of the same family died by suicide on Wednesday morning in Khasabhaga of the Belagavi district in Karnataka. A suicide note has been recovered by the police. A mother, along with her three children, consumed poison together at around 9 am in their house at Joshi Mala in Khasabhaga, of whom three died, and the condition of one is critical.
