Ram Pothineni's RAPO22 Titled Andhra King Taluka; First Glimpse Out Now - Watch

Hyderabad: The makers of the upcoming film, tentatively titled RAPO22, officially unveiled its title, Andhra King Taluka, on the occasion of actor Ram Pothineni's birthday on May 15. The announcement was accompanied by a poster and a glimpse video, giving fans their first look at the world of the film.

Helmed by Athiratha director Mahesh Babu P, Andhra King Taluka introduces Ram Pothineni in the role of Sagar, a young man from a middle-class background with a deep admiration for Kannada superstar Upendra. The glimpse video showcases Sagar as a passionate, starry-eyed fan who lives life with big dreams and immense energy.

The video begins with Ram walking through a crowd of people to a movie ticket counter. When asked who he is, he proudly says, "Fans." The scene is followed by visuals of a cut-out of Upendra's character. The movie, as defined by the makers, is "a biopic of a fan." The poster that was released along with the video shows Ram standing on a wooden scaffold next to a giant cut-out of a film hero.

Sharing the poster on social media, production house Mythri Movie Makers wrote in the caption, "Starry-eyed, energetic, and has all the love for his hero. Sagar is one of us. Happy birthday, @ramsayz #RAPO22TitleGlimpse out now! #RAPO22 is #AndhraKingTaluka - A BIOPIC OF A FAN. Fans celebrate cinema. But this film will celebrate fans."

In a casting reveal, the makers also announced that Upendra would be playing the role of Surya Kumar in the film. They wrote, "Honoured to present our Superstar @nimmaupendra garu as 'SURYA KUMAR' - a tribute to the Spirit of Every Superstar we admire and look up to. #RAPO22 The exciting #RAPO22TitleGlimpse drops on May 15th."

Additionally, they welcomed the actor on board with a behind-the-scenes image and captioned, "Team #RAPO22 welcomes the brilliant @nimmaupendra Garu on board 'SURYA KUMAR' will be a role that will be memorable for every cinema fan."

The film stars Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, with Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Satya, and VTV Ganesh in significant roles. Music is composed by the duo Vivek–Mervin, with cinematography by Siddharth Nuni, editing by National Award winner Sreekar Prasad, and production design by Avinash Kolla. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, Andhra King Taluka marks their first collaboration with Ram Pothineni. The film is touted to be a feel-good love story with an emotional fan journey at its heart.
