Hyderabad: Karate Kid: Legends, directed by Jonathan Entwistle, officially hit theatres in the United States and India on May 30, with earlier releases in South America on May 8 and Europe and Scandinavia on May 29. The highly anticipated martial arts sequel reunites legends Jackie Chan (Mr. Han) and Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso), introducing Ben Wang as the new lead, Li Fong, a young Kung Fu prodigy navigating life and rivalry in New York City.

In India, the film is available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Adding a unique milestone, the Hindi version features Yug Devgan, son of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, making his voice acting debut as Li Fong.

The film's early Twitter buzz is overwhelmingly positive. Many fans are calling it the best Karate Kid movie since the original, highlighting everything from its fight choreography to its emotional depth.

Taking to X, a user wrote: "#KarateKidLegends doesn't break ground or bring anything new to the MiyageVerse, but it's charming, funny, and cute. A step up from the 2010 disaster. Dawson's Creek fans will be VERY happy! It needed way more Ralph Macchio. Sweet, harmless and innocent yet uninspired! ⭐️⭐️.5"

A cinegoer offered a balanced review, praising the film's lighthearted tone. "I was literally on edge of my seat during the final fight #KarateKidLegends what a movie! Absolutely must watch for all wrestling lovers." Another user highlighted the thrilling climax and recommends it to fans of high-energy combat scenes. "KARATE KID: LEGENDS (2025), which is in theatres now, is so breezy, fast paced, and effortlessly likable from the first frame to the last... As always, JACKIE CHAN steals every scene he is in!," read the post.

Praise rolled in for Jackie Chan, whose charisma remains unbeatable, even decades into the franchise. The X post read: "Just watched Karate Kid: Legends! This movie was actually pretty good! Very fast paced, great martial arts action, good acting, and Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan work GREAT together! Only complaint is it's a little TOO fast paced and there's some weird editing choices. 8/10."

The film earned a solid score from another fan who found the film enjoyable, despite a few editing issues. He wrote: "Karate Kid: Legends is a roundhouse kick of fun and nostalgia! Ben Wang is terrific and held his own with the GOAT Jackie Chan. All I wanted was a fun, montage-filled Karate Kid film with great music and fun fights and damn they delivered! #KarateKidMovie"

The film strikes a fine balance between nostalgia and freshness, delivering action-packed sequences while honouring the heart of the original franchise. Ben Wang is receiving praise for his breakout role as Li Fong, holding his own alongside seasoned icons like Chan and Macchio. The chemistry between the leads, combined with a fast-paced plot and emotionally charged training sequences, has made Karate Kid: Legends a fan favourite right after its release.
