UIDAI rebuffs Moody’s Aadhaar report; says Indian ID is most trusted digital ID in world

The Moody's report does not cite either primary or secondary data or research in support of the opinions presented in it, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said while blaming the rating agency of not making any attempt to ascertain facts. The sole reference cited in the report is in respect of the UIDAI, by referring to its website. The number of Aadhaars issued is not 1.2 billion as stated in the report. The service denial scenario of manual laborers in India’s hot, humid climate, which is an obvious reference to India’s Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) is on an incorrect premise, according to the UIDAI.
